Venue: EU Parliament

It is unprecedented to secure such a venue, which is ordinarily reserved for European Parliament business, but on this occasion we have been given permission by the President of the European Parliament to use the Plenary Chamber for one day.

Our application was unanimously recommended by two of the Parliament’s cross-party political groups (the Culture and Education Committee and the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee) and endorsed by the Vice-Presidents of the Parliament and thereafter by the President at a meeting in Strasbourg.

Moreover, its significance is all the greater in the year of the launch of the European Citizens’ Initiative.
